REPORTS TO:
Wellness Director
Position Summary
Administers medications to residents on an established schedule in the facility. Coordinates and updates medication logs and/or profiles. Instructs residents about the plan of care and medications. Alerts physician, family members and Administrator to changes in condition of resident health and well-being.
Primary Responsibilities
All employees of Westminster of Cullman are expected to maintain strict confidentiality, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and to uphold the safety and well-being of our residents. Employees are expected to demonstrate an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the residents as well the aging process.
1. Maintain the standards of nursing care and follow the policies and procedures set forth by the State Board of Nursing and the Company. Maintains accurate nursing notes and records.
2. Administer resident medications in an accurate and timely manner, per physician's orders.
3. Notifies physician, family and administrator of any changes in the resident's physical or emotional condition. Reports and records changes in an appropriate and timely manner.
4. Report to work on time, keep supervisors informed of changes in assigned schedule and maintain a good attendance record.
5. Participate in call rotation as assigned.
6. Keep up with current research and literature in the nursing field.
7. Maintain licensure and CEU requirements of the State Board of Nursing.
8. Escort residents to and from dining room, turn down bedding and pass snacks.
9. All other duties as assigned by the Wellness Director

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. High School graduate or equivalent
2. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses with current licensure.
3. One to three years in public health nursing and at least one year of experience in medical, surgical geriatric or rehab care preferred.
4. Requires knowledge of nursing practices, procedures and skill as well as an understanding of the functions and responsibilities of assisted living.
5. Must be able to demonstrate effective nursing skills in areas of assessment and implementation of care plans, including medication profiles. Must be able to teach residents and family members to give appropriate care.
6. Must show a high degree of initiative, judgment and cooperation with the facility team in analyzing the resident's condition, situation and needs. Must be able to effectively plan and organize work assignments. Must be able to communicate effectively in speaking and in writing.
7. Must have good manual dexterity to examine residents, handle equipment, prepare and administer medications. Must be able to function in residential and commercial settings. This includes standing and walking for long periods of time.
8. Must be able to transcribe and communicate resident information. Must be exact in standard nursing procedures.
Work Environment
Physical activity includes but is not limited to walking, bending, lifting, and carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions resulting in medium strength work. Must be able to carry up to 25 lbs and to exert 20 pounds of force occasionally. Minimal risk involved working in a well-ventilated, lighted and temperature controlled environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
